GPR Co-Chair Report
10/4/26
Billy W Co-Chair
The big news this cycle is the final results from our Strategic Planning, since Jan 2026, and
the Project Plans we are bringing to Region today for approval. A copy of the survey results
is included with this report digitally and is on our website- first page. Very interesting.
Remember we have been slowly moving towards some new goals; bringing fresh ideas on
how to make Region a better experience and more eAicient, moving away from a Report
delivery body to a Service delivery body, attracting new and younger members to Regional
service, and making NA better over the next 1-5yrs through Strategic Planning. On an
experimental basis and with the approval of the RCMs, we’ve adopted the NA World
Service model of Strategic Planning- Find out what the Fellowship wants (Surveys and
workshops), Develop short term actionable Project Plans*, monitor process, Implement
action recommended by the Project Plan groups, if we choose. Each step of the way is
approved by the RCMs. This is driven by the Areas. Once and if the Project Plans(PPs) are
approved, a small group from the Strategic Planning sessions will cherry pick from the
surveys willing members to fill those positions. Their criteria will be finding people with
relevant experience, along with newer and younger members. Part of our goal here is
getting newer people exposed to Regional service through shorter term commitments. The
Regional Chair will ask a Regional Admin body member to be a non-voting facilitator for
each PP.
We chose PPs we felt were simple, actionable, and achievable. In the end, if we think this is
a successful way of growing GPRNA, then we will start the process of building this into our
policy and making this type of Strategic Planning a part of how we do business. Because
this is an informal experiment, if for some reason we don’t like it, we can just let it go. Win
Win.

Here are the recommended Project Plans for a vote:
1) Forming an Area Chair Forum hosted by Region. To better facilitate sharing of best
practices, problems/solutions, and to have a forum where Areas can get more
detailed information on Region. 4 month timeline.
2) Having a one-day Service event, a “Convenfrence” (like a small MRLCNA).
Generating excitement in service, filled with workshops, etc. 6 month Timeline.
3) Better communications through a GPRNA News Letter, distributed digitally every
two months. DiAerent from the Cleansheet, this will focus on happenings and
opportunities at Regions. Condensed and more transparency without having to read
the 40 page Minutes. 4 month Timeline.
*the general diAerence between a Project Plan and a Workgroup/Ad Hoc/Task Force?
Workgroups are open for anyone to participate. PPs, once the positions are filled, stay with
just those people to fulfil the task. Again, the World Service model.
