Two Proposals:
#1 Proposal: To update the opening paragraph of the Phoneline Committee policy to state that it operates as an operational branch under the PR Subcommittee umbrella while keeping its existing Purpose and Duties intact.
” The Phoneline Committee operates as a dedicated branch under the Public Relations (PR) Subcommittee umbrella. While Phoneline trusted servants keep their focused roles managing call schedules, training, and taking Twelfth Step calls, the Phoneline Subcommittee falls under the administrative oversight, budget, and reporting structure of the Regional PR Subcommittee.”
Intent:
To bring the Phoneline Subcommittee under the PR umbrella, and align our regional structure with NA World Services (NAWS) Public Relations guidelines.
#2 Proposal: To amend PR Policy by adding Duty #8: “Oversee the administration, budget, and RSC reporting for Phoneline services while supporting Phoneline trusted servants in managing helpline operations and 12-Step calls.”
Intent: To formally establish Phoneline services under the PR committee’s duties, consolidating administrative oversight while keeping 12-Step call response centered on carrying the message to the addict seeking recovery.
